Blood Dungeon Crashes, Hotfixes, and Known Launch Bugs
Install the 26 August Steam hotfixes first. Then use Discord or the Steam forum, not a guessed 1.0.1 string.
If Blood Dungeon crashes, a bunkmate feels broken, or Daily rewards vanish, start with Steam news, not a fan version number. Messhof does not label these posts 1.0.1. The titles are hotfix and hotfix 2, both dated 26 August 2026, the day after the 25 August launch. Quoted notes live on Launch Notes. This page is the player checklist: what those bullets mean in a session, and where Mark asked people to write.
The game is single-player only. Troubleshooting a missing teammate is a wrong diagnosis. Steam lists Cloud, Leaderboards, Achievements, and Family Sharing. Cloud does not replace the “saves more often” bullet; that hotfix was about local save frequency.
Install the two 26 August notes
Hotfix (author: mark) listed:
- memory leaks that could eventually crash the game
- bugs with Powder Keg and Revivalist
- leaderboard placement digits no longer cut off — Leaderboards
- Bone Shop powers back after a Daily — Daily Dungeon, Bones & Dogmancer
- saves more often
Hotfix 2 the same day: “revivalist fix (for real this time).” If Revivalist still misbehaved after the first note, the second post is the one that was supposed to finish the job.
Verify the client: Steam → Blood Dungeon → news. Verify files if a crash survived both posts. This wiki will not invent a third hotfix. If a later news item appears, it belongs on Launch Notes and here together.
What to try before you post
- Confirm you are on the 26 August client, not a 25 August evening install.
- Long Catacombs nights were the leak story. If the game dies after many minutes, that bullet is the first suspect. Getting Started can wait; update first.
- Powder Keg or Revivalist collision, animation, or fire bugs: take both hotfixes, then test in Catacombs, not on a Daily seed you cannot reproduce.
- Daily “ate” a shop power: that is a listed bug, not a feature. Finish a Daily after the hotfix and check the Bone Shop again.
- Leaderboard digits cut off: visual, not a score wipe. Do not reset a save to “fix” a truncated number.
Steam Deck: PC Gamer listed compatibility unknown and still said it works great. Do not treat a missing Verified badge as a crash. Notes: Steam Deck. Specs: System Requirements. Platforms: Platforms.
Streamer Mode and cartoon blood are presentation toggles. They do not cause memory leaks. They will not unstick Revivalist.
Where Messhof asked you to write
The launch post Blood Dungeon is OUT pointed technical issues at Discord and the Steam forum, with email [email protected] for everything else. Copy the news titles. Do not invent a patch string in the subject line. Leaderboard invites from that post are play, not a crash fix.
Steam user reviews sat Very Positive after launch (about 90 percent of 261 when this wiki last checked). A negative crash thread is not a patch note. Family Sharing and Cloud issues belong on Steam support if the hotfixes already applied.
What this page will not say
It will not invent a config.ini. It will not invent oxygen crashes. It will not invent a second-player reconnect. Powder Keg and Revivalist default weapons stay unpublished. Character Compare is for kits, not for crash logs. Wyrm is a boss clock, not a crash.
Update, reproduce in Catacombs, then write Discord or the Steam forum with the hotfix / hotfix 2 labels Messhof actually used.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
The game crashed after a long run. What should I do?
Install the 26 August hotfix that lists memory leaks. Verify files on Steam. Then test a shorter Catacombs session before a Daily.
Powder Keg or Revivalist still feels broken.
Take both 26 August notes. Hotfix 2 is Revivalist-only. Test in Catacombs. If it survives both, post on Discord or the Steam forum with those titles.
I lost Bone Shop powers after Daily.
The first hotfix lists getting Bone Shop powers back after a Daily. Update, then finish another Daily and check the shop.
Where do I report bugs?
Launch news pointed technical issues at Discord and the Steam forum. Email [email protected] for other topics. Do not invent a 1.0.1 version string.
