Blood Dungeon Quest Guide

Quest log, recommended first quests, and how quests drive unlocks.

Last updated:

The quest log in Blood Dungeon tracks objectives across all runs. Completing quests unlocks characters, arenas, weapons, and permanent upgrades. Understanding how the quest system works is essential for efficient progression.

How the quest log works

Open the quest log from the main hub screen between runs. The log shows all active quests, your progress toward each one, and the reward for completing it.

Quests are tracked globally across all runs — you do not need to complete a quest in a single run. Progress accumulates run to run until the objective is met.

Example quest types:

  • Kill X enemies with a specific weapon type
  • Defeat the second boss of a specific arena
  • Collect Y Bones in a single run
  • Reach wave Z in any arena
  • Use a specific character for a full run
  • Open X treasure chests

Focus on these early quest categories to accelerate your progression:

Boss kill quests — these unlock characters directly. The Hypnomancer unlock (second boss, Boiler arena) is the highest-priority early boss quest because the character is powerful and the quest is straightforward.

Enemy kill quests — these typically reward Bones or small permanent stat boosts. They are the easiest quests to make consistent progress on because every run involves killing enemies.

Chest collection quests — opening chests is a core part of the run loop, so these quests complete naturally as you play. They often reward character or weapon unlocks.

Wave milestone quests — reaching wave fifteen or twenty in any arena unlocks additional weapon slots or stat upgrades. Push these when you have the upgrade foundation to survive deep runs.

Quest-driven unlocks

Many of the most important progression gates in Blood Dungeon are quest-gated:

  • Hypnomancer — defeat the second boss in the Boiler arena
  • Additional characters — specific boss kills, weapon type kills, and run milestones
  • Arena unlocks — certain arenas are locked behind quest completion in earlier arenas
  • Weapon unlocks — some weapons only appear in the drop pool after a specific quest is completed

Always check the quest log after a significant run event — boss kills, deep wave clears, or large Bone collections — to see if progress has been recorded.

Managing the quest log

With over 100 quests active simultaneously, the log can feel overwhelming. Prioritise by:

  1. Quests with character rewards — these are permanent power increases
  2. Quests with high Bone rewards — fund Dogmancer upgrades
  3. Quests aligned with your current play — if you are running the Flood arena anyway, focus on Flood-adjacent quests

Daily dungeon quests

The daily dungeon feature adds a rotating set of daily quests with bonus Bone rewards. These are worth prioritising when they align with your current upgrade path because the bonus Bone multiplier is substantial.

Common quest mistakes

  • Ignoring the log — check it after every session. Progress may have been recorded that you did not notice during the run.
  • Focusing only on boss kills — many character and weapon unlocks come from kill-type and collection-type quests that complete naturally during normal play.
  • Not tracking weapon-type quests — if a quest asks you to kill enemies with a specific weapon type, make sure to bring that weapon even if it is not your preferred build.
  • Resetting runs too quickly — short runs may not give you time to make progress on longer-duration quests like wave milestones or large Bone collections.
