Revivalist Bunkmate Guide

Revivalist is the other name Messhof published in Steam news after launch. The 26 August 2026 post titled hotfix groups Revivalist with Powder Keg under “fixed some bugs.” Hours later, hotfix 2 is a one-line note: “revivalist fix (for real this time).” That second post is why this bunkmate gets its own page. A kit that needed two patches in one afternoon is not flavour text. It is a system Messhof had to keep touching.

This wiki treats Revivalist as a named bunkmate filling the last unpublished roster slot beside Powder Keg. Store copy, trailers, and launch reviews had named seven kits. The hotfixes named the remaining two. We still do not invent a default weapon, a revive button, a Bone price, or a boss gate.

Full published kits: Bunkmates. Unlock methods we can cite: Unlock Characters. Ranks: Character Tier List. Patch wording: Launch Notes.

What “revival” is allowed to mean

Steam’s achievement Candlemaker is “Come back from the dead.” The name and the trophy sit in the same thematic neighbourhood. That is not proof that Revivalist’s unlock is Candlemaker, that Revivalist auto-revives, or that you should refuse five upgrades (that is Explosionist) to “proc” a rez. Read the in-game quest card and the options menu. If a later Messhof post ties Candlemaker to this bunkmate, both pages update. Until then, keep the trophy on Achievements and the character here.

Blood Dungeon is single-player. There is no teammate to revive. If Revivalist has a come-back beat, it is a solo come-back: extra life, delayed death, a hub return that still banks Bones. This page will not pick which. The 26 August notes also restored Bone Shop powers after a Daily and saved more often. If you thought a Daily “ate” a revive resource, it may have been that shop bug, not the kit. See Daily Dungeon and Leaderboards.

Why two hotfixes

Launch day was 25 August 2026. Players hit the boards the same night. Messhof’s first hotfix listed memory leaks that could crash the game, Powder Keg and Revivalist bugs, cut-off leaderboard digits, Daily Bone Shop powers, and save frequency. The second hotfix was Revivalist only. If your 25 August client crashed, update. If Revivalist still misbehaved after the first note, the second note is the one that was supposed to finish the job. This wiki does not invent the bug (wrong I-frames, a rez that dropped you in a wall, a HUD that lied). It records that Messhof had to say “for real this time.”

How to try Revivalist without a fake build

  1. Learn cling with Gun Man or Barbarian in CatacombsGetting Started.
  2. Open Revivalist in a map you can already kite, not on a Daily lock you cannot meet.
  3. Watch one full death cycle before you spend rare cards. If a come-back exists, you want to see it once with a cheap run.
  4. Do not skip Streamer Mode if you record; Revivalist is not the nude pair (Barbarian and Skinja are).
  5. Bank Bones at the Dogmancer after the run. A patched kit still spends the same currency.

Shared weapon pool still matters. Unlocking Revivalist may add a default to everyone else’s drops the way Hypnomancer’s gas does after the second Boiler boss. When that default is named on a tooltip, this page should say so. Until then, ignore Discord loadout names that this wiki cannot verify.

  • Powder Keg — the other hotfix bunkmate; not patched a second time the same day.
  • Movement — no published Revivalist-only traversal.
  • How to Play — Blood, auto-fire, Bones.
  • Quests — trust the log over a fan table.
  • Steam Deck — same single-player client; the hotfixes are Steam news, not a handheld DLC.

Leech remains a Wyrm-under-30-seconds achievement, not a rez character. Bunkhouse still wants every bunkhouse character on every named arena. If Revivalist is in your client, that trophy just got longer. Play the current build, not a 25 August evening save that never took the hotfixes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Revivalist a bunkmate?

Steam named Revivalist in two 26 August hotfixes. This wiki treats that as the last unpublished roster name beside Powder Keg. The bunkhouse label in your client is the proof.

Does Revivalist revive you?

The name and the Candlemaker achievement sit in the same theme. That is not a published mechanic. Read the tooltip. This page will not invent a rez button.

Why two hotfixes?

The first 26 August hotfix listed Revivalist with Powder Keg. Hotfix 2 the same day was Revivalist-only: “for real this time.” Update the client.

How do I unlock Revivalist?

No public shop price or boss gate. Check the quest log and bunkhouse. Do not copy invented Bone costs.
