The game is still single-player. Game Pass does not add a second hunter in the dungeon. You pick one bunkmate, one arena, and you survive automatic fire.

That pairing is how Microsoft sells a single license that follows you between an Xbox Series console and a Windows Store / Xbox app PC install. It is not a Steam key.
