Blood Dungeon Tier List
Hedged launch-week ranks for confirmed bunkmates only.
This list ranks confirmed public bunkmates only: Bug, Skinja, Baby, Leggy, Gun Man, Barbarian, and Hypnomancer. Two of the nine bunkmates are unnamed in public materials and are left off on purpose. Leech is not here — it is a Steam achievement (defeat Wyrm in under 30 seconds), not a character. The game launched 25 August 2026; the meta is a week old. Treat every letter as a hedge, not a gospel patch.
Placements weigh published movement tricks, default weapons named in reviews and marketing, and how those kits behave in the six named arenas (Catacombs through Flood). They do not weigh invented shop prices or unpublished names. Any bunkmate can clear content with the right drops. Tiers measure ease and published tools, not a hard lock.
Tier S — published movement that rewrites rooms
Bug — Official marketing gives Bug flight. Leaving the floor ignores ground piles and hazard tiles. In launch week that is the strongest published mobility hook: chests, boss windows, and tight rooms all get easier when you are not walking the same plane as the swarm. Default gun is not named publicly; the rank is for flight, not a fan-invented starter weapon. Expect this letter to move if a later weapon table shows a weak default that never drops well.
Skinja — Official kits show shotgun, cartwheels, and speed. Close-range pellets plus a roll-out is a complete survival sentence in open rooms. Shotgun wants you nearer than Gun Man’s machine gun, but cartwheels pay that tax. In corridors the roll still beats standing still. This is S on published kit completeness, not because the community has a thousand-hour sample.
Tier A — strong defaults, more map-dependent
Baby — Magnum plus extra gold is the cleanest published “this gun works without a thesis” default after you leave the bunkhouse starters. Extra gold speeds Bones once you can actually play Baby. The Bone Shop ten-items trophy is an achievement, not a ranked unlock cost. Baby has no unique movement in public copy, so very dense floors punish you more than Bug or Skinja. Still A because magnum range is honest.
Leggy — Climbable webs are official. In Flood that is effectively S: extra platforms in water. On flat Catacombs floors webs are extra routes, not a full rewrite. Rank A overall, with a huge Flood bump. Do not bench her because a generic list put flight higher — bring her when the water flag is on.
Tier B — bunkhouse teachers
Gun Man — PC Gamer and IGN treat the machine gun bunkmate as the learning character. Steady bullets teach kiting in Catacombs. No unique movement extra is published. The gun is excellent for first hours and still fine later; it is B because Bug/Skinja/Baby publish more specialised tools, not because Gun Man is weak. If you only ever play Gun Man, you can still finish the achievement spine.
Barbarian — Nude dual circling swords and Streamer Mode. Also in the bunkhouse from the start. Orbit melee is a real default, but the ceiling is closer range than magnum or machine gun until a second slot opens. B for teaching melee orbits, not for being a trap. Pair with any ranged drop as soon as you can.
Tier C — specialist, confirmed unlock
Hypnomancer — Gas plus a confirmed unlock: second boss in Boiler. Area denial is excellent in chokes and average in open pits. The kit is cohesive in Corridor/Boiler and less so in wide rooms unless you also find a bullet weapon. C is “situational,” not “skip.” Unlocking Hypnomancer still matters for the shared pool.
Launch-week caveats
- Over 100 weapons and upgrades exist. A “bad” letter can spike when a synergy is found.
- Arena match beats letter: Leggy in Flood can outplay Skinja in water; Skinja on a dry open floor can outplay Leggy.
- Two unnamed bunkmates are omitted. When they are named, this list should be rebuilt, not patched with guesses.
- Full kits: Bunkmates. Unlock notes: Unlock Characters. Loadouts: loadouts.
What matters more than tier
Learn Gun Man or Barbarian in Catacombs, then unlock Baby. Chase Hypnomancer when you reach Boiler’s second boss. Pick Skinja, Leggy, or Bug when the arena matches the published trick. Ignore any guide that ranks Leech as a bunkmate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is this list based on endgame clears?
It is a hedged launch-week read of published kits and reviews, not a thousand-hour endgame sample. Letters will move.
Will the tier list change?
Yes. Weapon synergies and the two unnamed bunkmates will force a rewrite. This is week-one consensus, not a patch bible.
Can any character clear content?
Yes. Tiers measure published ease and movement tricks, not a lockout. Gun Man can finish the named-arena spine.
What is the best character for beginners?
Gun Man and Barbarian in the bunkhouse, then Baby. Bug and Skinja sit higher on this list because of published mobility, not because they are the first hours.
