Blood Dungeon Soundtrack
Dungeon drum-and-bass by Thomas Hoey. Optional DLC. The arenas do not change if you skip it.
Blood Dungeon’s score is Thomas Hoey dungeon drum-and-bass. Messhof’s store copy calls it a “killer soundtrack” and “dynamic dungeon dnb.” Critics treat the music as part of why the game feels like a Messhof title instead of a generic bullet-heaven clone. This page is the album and DLC map. It is not a tracklist we invented, and it is not extra weapons. Buy it if you want the files. Skip it if you only want Catacombs.
Steam lists the soundtrack as its own app (store capsule 4994360) and as a game + soundtrack bundle. Launch week priced the album at $4.99 with the same introductory −15% as the game ($4.24) while that offer ran, scheduled to end 8 September 2026 for the game discount window. After that date, read the live Steam tile. This wiki will not invent a permanent album price.
What you already hear in the game
You do not need the DLC to hear Hoey in a run. The dynamic score is in the box. GamingOnLinux’s review called the soundtrack fun and part of the intoxicating mix with scribbled art and silly bunkmates. PlayStation LifeStyle and Gematsu repeat the official feature line: dynamic dungeon dnb by Thomas Hoey (press sometimes spells Hooey; Steam’s store spelling on the DLC capsule is Hoey, which this page follows).
“Dynamic” in Messhof’s copy means the dungeon music escalates with the run. It is not a promise of a licensed radio app, a jukebox menu this wiki has not seen documented, or a volume slider we will invent. If your client has a music toggle, use it. If it does not, the DLC still does not add arenas.
What the DLC is for
The DLC is listening outside the game: the album on Steam, in your music library, on a train, in a video editor. Official launch posts also sold a bundle so you do not have to click twice. Family Sharing on Steam applies to the game SKU as a store feature; do not assume every DLC shares the same way without checking Steam’s current family-library rules.
The soundtrack does not:
- Unlock a tenth bunkmate
- Add a seventh named arena
- Change Bone Shop prices
- Grant Steam achievements by itself
- Replace the Steam demo as a way to test movement
If a reseller lists “OST edition” with extra skins, treat that as a third-party claim until Messhof’s own store page says it. Launch press mentioned post-launch announcements and collaborations without naming a music partner. This page will not invent a remix season.
How it sits next to the rest of the store
| Purchase | What you get |
|---|---|
| Base game | Full combat loop, in-run score |
| Soundtrack DLC | Album files; Steam listing ~$4.99 / intro −15% |
| Game + soundtrack bundle | Both, one checkout |
| Xbox Game Pass | The game and in-run music, not an automatic Steam album |

Why Hoey matters in a run
Blood Dungeon is short, loud, and movement-first. A thin chiptune bed would make Catacombs feel like a mobile clone. Dungeon drum-and-bass is the studio telling you the same joke as Nidhogg: ugly-pretty, physical, timed. Reviews that bounce off the art still often keep the score in the plus column. If you clip runs for Daily Dungeon scores or Steam leaderboards, the in-game mix is what viewers hear. The DLC is for people who want that mix without launching the .exe.
Practical buy advice
- Already love the in-run mix and want it in a player — buy the DLC or the bundle while the intro cut is live.
- Still on the fence about the game — play the demo first. The album will not teach wall-cling.
- On Game Pass only — you already have the dungeon music in Xbox/PC Game Pass. The Steam album is a second store.
- Want a tracklist for a wiki table — Steam’s store page and the DLC library after purchase are the source. This wiki will not invent song titles.
Hardware is light (300 MB class install for the game). The soundtrack DLC is extra bits, not a performance patch. Specs: System Requirements. Editorial roundup: Review Hub.
Hoey’s score is part of the launch package conversation. It is not a promised future season, and it is not a hidden character unlock. Climb first. Buy the album if you still hear it after you close the dungeon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Who composed the Blood Dungeon soundtrack?
Thomas Hoey. Official copy calls it dynamic dungeon drum-and-bass. Steam’s DLC listing uses the spelling Hoey.
Do I need the soundtrack DLC to hear the music in-game?
No. The dynamic score is in the base game. The DLC is the album for listening outside a run.
How much is the soundtrack on Steam?
Launch week listed $4.99 with −15% (to $4.24) in the same introductory window as the game. After 8 September 2026, check Steam for the live price.
Does Game Pass include the soundtrack album?
Game Pass includes the game and the in-run score. The isolated album is a Steam DLC listing, not an automatic Game Pass extra.
