Blood Dungeon Movement
Stick to everything: walls, water, webs, and flight.
Blood Dungeon is a bullet-heaven platformer where the guns fire themselves. Your job is to move. Kotaku’s hands-on coverage put it cleanly: you can stick to everything. Walls, ceilings, ladders, grates, and chains are not scenery. They are the map. This page is about how traversal works in arenas. Button maps live on Controls. First-run advice lives on Getting Started and How to Play.
Stick to everything
You cling to solid surfaces and travel along them. Confirmed climbable fixtures include:
- Walls and ceilings
- Ladders
- Grates
- Chains
Climbing lets you leave a ground swarm, reach a chest, and drop back into a lane with a better angle. In a tight space such as Corridor, vertical room is the difference between a clean kite and a corner death. In Catacombs the same habit trains you for later dungeons. Treat every surface as walkable until the game shows you otherwise. You do not need a separate “wall jump” religion. The shared kit is cling, travel, leave.
Water, swimming, and oxygen
Flood is the water dungeon. You swim, you watch oxygen, and you plan a way out. This wiki does not publish exact oxygen numbers. Messhof has not posted a public timer we can cite, and guessing a second count would mislead more than it would help. Learn the bar in the demo or in your own runs: when it bites, leave the water.
Leggy’s webs work underwater in Flood. That is the official reason she is the wet-map specialist. Bug’s flight still helps you skip a bad line, but webs give you platforms where other bunkmates stall. Full exploration of Flood is the Crystalize trophy on Achievements.
Confirmed bunkmates and motion
The game has nine bunkmates. Seven names are public; two remain unnamed in public materials. This page does not invent names for the two unpublished bunkmates. Roster notes: Bunkmates and Characters.
- Gun Man — machinegun. PC Gamer and IGN treat him as the starter. No public special traversal trait beyond the shared stick-to-surfaces rules.
- Barbarian — dual swords, nude. Streamer Mode hides the nudity. Same shared climbing kit.
- Skinja — shotgun, cartwheels, speed. Best flat-ground mover. Cartwheels are extra motion, not a replacement for climbing.
- Baby — magnum and extra gold. Shared climbing.
- Hypnomancer — gas. Unlock: second boss in Boiler. Shared climbing. See Unlock Characters.
- Leggy — webs you can climb, including underwater in Flood.
- Bug — flight. Short airtime feeds the Bug achievement (five seconds airborne). Longer flight feeds Jetpack (thirty seconds). Neither trophy invents a new bunkmate.
Leech is not a character. It is a Steam achievement: defeat Wyrm in under 30 seconds.
Arenas and movement jobs
Arenas open along a first-boss spine: Catacombs → Pit → Corridor → Boiler → Tombs → Flood. Hub: Arenas.
- Catacombs — learn walls and ceilings before the first-boss trophy Pit opens the next map (Pit).
- Pit — more vertical risk. First boss here opens Corridor.
- Corridor — cramped. Bug flight and Skinja speed both help.
- Boiler — later heat-themed dungeon. Hypnomancer’s unlock lives here. Full exploration is Multiheal.
- Tombs — next spine step after Boiler’s first boss (Tombs).
- Flood — swim, oxygen, Leggy webs underwater, Crystalize for a full explore.
Boss movement is its own skill. Beat Bosses covers fight flow. Enemy shapes: Enemies. Daily modifier map: Daily Dungeon.
Combat positioning
Weapons fire while you climb. A ceiling line lets Gun Man’s machinegun rake a lane. Skinja’s speed creates reload windows for shotgun work. Magnum shots for Stagger (at least 700 damage in one Magnum hit) need a clean angle, not a panic jump. Slow Ring wants twenty-five enemies in webs at once — Leggy in a packed room, including underwater in Flood.
Loadout thinking belongs on Builds, Weapons, Loadouts, and Synergies. Rankings without invented names: Tier List and Character Tier List.
Practice loop
- Cling on Catacombs walls until it feels automatic.
- Add ceiling crossings so ground swarms cannot pin you.
- Use ladders, grates, and chains as shortcuts, not as decoration.
- In Flood, treat oxygen as a budget you feel, not a number you memorise from a wiki.
- Take Leggy into Flood when webs matter; take Bug when you need air.
- Check Quests so a movement-adjacent objective is not sitting ignored.
Shop upgrades that might add mobility are bought from the Dogmancer. This page does not invent prices. See Bones & Dogmancer. Hardware notes: System Requirements, Platforms, Review. Launch-week store snapshot: Launch Notes. Widgets: Tools. More walkthroughs: Guides.
Movement is how Blood Dungeon stays a platformer instead of a standing auto-shooter. If you only upgrade guns and never climb, later arenas will punish the habit. Stick, swim, web, fly — then shoot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can I climb ceilings and chains?
Yes. Kotaku’s coverage matches the design: you stick to walls, ceilings, ladders, grates, and chains. Treat solid surfaces as walkable.
How much oxygen do I have in Flood?
You swim and you watch an oxygen budget, but this wiki does not publish exact numbers because Messhof has not posted a public timer to cite.
Do Leggy’s webs work underwater?
Yes. Leggy’s webs work underwater in Flood, which is why she is the specialist for that arena.
Which bunkmate can fly?
Bug has flight. The Bug achievement is five seconds airborne; Jetpack is thirty seconds of flight. Gun Man, Barbarian, Skinja, Baby, and Hypnomancer share the cling kit without a public flight trait.
