Players search “Blood Dungeon Steam Deck” because the game is a 300 MB bullet-heaven platformer that looks like it should live in a pocket. Why the install is a non-issue

Steam’s Windows minimum is 8 GB RAM, a GTX 650-class GPU, DirectX 11, and 300 MB of disk at 720p / 60 fps on low. That is the reason Deck owners keep asking. You are not installing a 100 GB campaign. You are installing a Messhof 2D autoshooter. Low quality at 720p is the published target, not a promise of 90 Hz OLED magic. If your Deck preview looks soft, check the in-game quality slider before you blame the wiki.

macOS is a separate Steam SKU (Big Sur, M1 or Intel i5, 8 GB, 300 MB). A Deck is not a Mac. Do not copy macOS notes onto a handheld Linux session.

Controls on a handheld

Blood Dungeon is built around auto-fire. Your thumbs do movement, cling, and panic jumps. That maps cleanly to a Deck’s sticks and paddles once you have read Controls. Wall and ceiling travel is the skill — Movement — not a mouse flick. If cling feels late, it is usually the player, not a missing Verified row.

Gyro is not a published requirement. This page will not invent a “must enable gyro for Skinja” rule. Try the default stick layout in Catacombs first. Remap after one death, not before.

Sleep, Cloud, and Daily

Steam lists Cloud saves. Suspend-and-resume is why handhelds exist; this wiki does not invent a Deck-specific Cloud failure. If a Daily seed looks wrong after sleep, finish the run or abandon it and check Steam news — Messhof’s 26 August hotfix saved more often and restored Bone Shop powers after Daily. Leaderboard digits being cut off was a listed Steam bug, not a Deck-only bug. Update the client.

Streamer Mode on a handheld screen

You can still turn on Streamer Mode and the cartoon-blood slider. Tiny nude sprites are easier to miss on a 7-inch panel and easier to flash in a public clip. Set the toggles in the bunkhouse before you ride the train.

What Deck is not

• It is not a second platform in the six-console launch list. Switch and Switch 2 already cover Nintendo handhelds. Deck is Steam hardware.
• It is not Game Pass. Game Pass is Xbox / PC Game Pass. Buying on Steam for Deck does not add Ultimate.
• It is not a two-player session. Single-player only, same as every other SKU.
• It is not a reason to skip the demo. If you want to feel cling before you pay, the demo is still on Steam.

Linux / Proton reports exist in the press (GamingOnLinux reviewed the game). Deck is a Proton machine under the hood. This page will not publish a Proton version pin. If a community post names a specific Proton, test it yourself; do not treat a forum number as a Messhof patch.

Practical Deck session

1. Install the 300 MB client. Confirm Cloud is on if you also play at a desk.
2. Learn Gun Man or Barbarian in Catacombs — Getting Started.
3. Set Streamer Mode if you might clip.
4. Bank Bones at the Dogmancer between runs.
5. Open Daily when you want a short seed — Daily Dungeon.

If performance dips in Flood water or dense Boiler heat, drop quality. The published minimum already assumes low / 720p / 60. That is an honest target for a scribble-art horde, not an insult.
